To Play Paintball in Queensland…
Individuals must be at least 15 years old to participate in paintball, as mandated by Queensland state law. To verify age, photo identification is required. Furthermore, players under 18 are required to have a parent or guardian sign their waiver form. Because paintball markers are classified as firearms in Queensland, all players must be mature enough to comprehend and adhere to safety instructions and game rules.
What About Players Younger Than 15?
So, your child is turning 8 or more and is desperate for a paintball party, but you live in Queensland. What are your options? While they can’t join a standard paintball game, it doesn’t mean they have to miss out on the fun. The perfect alternative is low-impact Splatball (Coming soon to Valhalla Paintball).
This format was designed specifically for younger players. It provides all the excitement and strategy of the classic game in a format that is safer and more comfortable for kids.
What is Low-Impact Splatball?
Low-impact Splatball uses gear that is specially modified for younger players. The paintballs are smaller and lighter, and the paintball marker is a spring powered pump-action that are calibrated to fire at a much lower velocity than standard paintball.
The result is an impact that is about one-third of a standard paintball, often described as being similar to a flick from a rubber band. This makes it an ideal activity for kids aged 8 to 14, giving them an action-packed experience without the intensity of the full game.
Is Paintball Safe for Teens and Younger Players?
Absolutely. Safety is the number one priority at Valhalla Paintball. While the game is designed to be exciting, it’s played in a highly controlled environment with strict rules and supervision to ensure everyone, including teens and younger players, stays safe and has a great time.
The owners are originally from Victoria, where low-impact Splatball has been legal to play since 2012 and ran kids games for 5 years before moving up to Queensland to take over Valhalla Paintball. We were one of the first paintball fields to offer unlimited ammo for junior paintball and designed our games around our own kids.
